Attention

GPU users: GPU nodes run EL9, while this documentation still reflects the EL7 software stack.

Run module avail on an EL9 login node, or within an interactive session on the relevant GPU type, to see the software available.

The documentation will be updated once all nodes have migrated to EL9.

Lua

Lua is a powerful, fast, lightweight, embeddable scripting language. Lua combines simple procedural syntax with powerful data description constructs based on associative arrays and extensible semantics. Lua is dynamically typed, runs by interpreting bytecode for a register-based virtual machine, and has automatic memory management with incremental garbage collection, making it ideal for configuration, scripting, and rapid prototyping.

Note

This is an autogenerated page, more detail including examples may be available for this package. Please see the first section of Software on Stanage

After connecting to Stanage (see Establishing a SSH connection), start an interactive session with the following command:

srun --pty bash -i

A version of Lua can then be made available with one of the following:

module load Lua/5.4.4-GCCcore-11.3.0
module load Lua/5.4.2-GCCcore-10.2.0
module load Lua/5.3.5-GCCcore-9.3.0
module load Lua/5.1.4-8

Notes

Lua was installed using Easybuild, build details can be found in $EBROOTLUA/easybuild with a given module loaded.
