Attention

GPU users: GPU nodes run EL9, while this documentation still reflects the EL7 software stack.

Run module avail on an EL9 login node, or within an interactive session on the relevant GPU type, to see the software available.

The documentation will be updated once all nodes have migrated to EL9.

Brotli

Brotli is a generic-purpose lossless compression algorithm that compresses data using a combination of a modern variant of the LZ77 algorithm, Huffman coding and 2nd order context modeling, with a compression ratio comparable to the best currently available general-purpose compression methods. It is similar in speed with deflate but offers more dense compression. The specification of the Brotli Compressed Data Format is defined in RFC 7932.

Note

This is an autogenerated page, more detail including examples may be available for this package. Please see the first section of Software on Stanage

After connecting to Stanage (see Establishing a SSH connection), start an interactive session with the following command:

srun --pty bash -i

A version of Brotli can then be made available with one of the following:

module load Brotli/1.0.9-GCCcore-12.2.0
module load Brotli/1.0.9-GCCcore-11.3.0
module load Brotli/1.0.9-GCCcore-11.2.0
module load Brotli/1.0.9-GCCcore-10.3.0
module load Brotli/1.0.9-GCCcore-10.2.0

Notes

Brotli was installed using Easybuild, build details can be found in $EBROOTBROTLI/easybuild with a given module loaded.
